I’ve been interested in classic menswear from a very young age but dressed very badly for most of my life. I’ve made every mistake in the book so I know all the pitfalls.
I’m a photographer and videographer for over 20 years working with the clothing industry and especially purveyors of classic menswear such as Louis Copeland in Dublin. I’ve photographed in detail hundreds of suits, overcoats, shoes from formalwear to smart casual of every kind.
Like you I’ve long been a fan of high quality menswear and have bought too many pairs of shoes, suits and accessories. More than I want my wife to know about! But more importantly I’ve had over 20 custom suits made from various tailors and have great experience with everything from 3 piece structured suits to unlined linen jackets for the hottest of climates. I lived in Shanghai for 20 years.
I’ve been friends with my tailors for more years than I care to remember and I have gained a lot of knowledge directly from them and from the dozens of books I have read. Although I watch YouTube like you I take all my information from the written word. It is more reliable and less prone to trends in thought.
